Position: Associate, Real Assets & Infrastructure
Reports to: Managing Director, Real Assets & Infrastructure
Position Summary: Wafra is a New York City–based global investment firm with approximately $29 billion in assets under management. Wafra is seeking an Associate to join its Real Assets & Infrastructure team. The role will involve evaluating, executing, and managing control equity and structured capital investments across a broad range of sectors, including transportation, digital infrastructure, power & utilities, and other infrastructure‑related asset classes. The Associate will work closely with senior investment professionals across the platform and play a meaningful role throughout the investment lifecycle.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Evaluate the merits and risks of investment opportunities across Wafra’s Real Assets and Infrastructure business
- Build and review detailed financial models and other qualitative and quantitative analyses to support investment underwriting and structuring decisions
- Conduct market, industry, competitive, and opportunity-specific research and diligence
- Assist in transaction execution, including investment structuring, coordination with legal and financial advisors, and review of transaction documentation
- Author investment memoranda and participate in presenting opportunities to the investment committee
- Monitor portfolio investments and support ongoing portfolio management, including analysis of operating performance, capital structure, and risk exposures and opportunities
- Support quarterly and ad hoc reporting requirements for internal and external stakeholders
Requirements:
- Strong academic achievement from a top-tier undergraduate program
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in investment banking, private equity, infrastructure investing, real assets, or related fields
- Demonstrated ability to perform high‑quality financial, analytical, and business analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience drafting investment materials
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team‑oriented, fast‑paced environment
- High level of intellectual curiosity and interest in real assets and infrastructure investing
